hyperboreanesoterica:

Zeus Ammon, the merging of the Greek god Zeus with the Egyptian god Amun, was worshipped widely across the classical world from Thebes, Delphi, and Arcadia, through to Egypt and Libya in the form of a ram’s head, or a god with ram’s horns.
Alexander the Great was once declared “The Son Of Ammon” by the Oracle of Delphi.

Saint Francis of Assisi and Caliph al-Kamil of the Ayyubids embracing. After preaching the Christian faith in Egypt, Francis and his followers were arrested and beaten. Francis asked to speak with the Caliph, and was given leave by al-Kamil to preach to him for several days. Though al-Kamil ultimately did not convert, he greatly respected the saint’s bravado, and allowed Francis to go home - while also asking him to pray on his behalf, that he may find the path most pleasing to God.

I like that they both have halos in this image. Image made by Franciscan Friar Robert Lentz.
